The key to using Scoth Blocks and similar is to match the wire size to the blade size and to the crimping tool.

I use the matched, no solder wiring system sold by Express Models together with a good quality ratcheted crimping tool instead of the rather cheap one that comes with the kit. http://www.expressmodels.co.uk/acatalog/DCC_No_Solder_Power_Bus_Kit.html
