Irregularity of in line brake shoes on rolling stock.

I have been looking at many Farish and Dapol wagons lately and it seems to be completely hit and miss as to whether the brakes are designed to be in line with the wheels. The year of manufacture of stock has no bearing on this and the only wagon manufacturer that seems to have always had the brakes in line are Peco.

What I have found is that freight stock sometimes has this right and sometimes doesn't - as freight stock only looks right when it is weathered this sometimes really emphasises the problem. It is strange that on some farish wagons the underfame detail is extensive but the brakes are out of alignment.

No passenger coaches has the brakes portrayed correctly but some passenger stock like the Stove R is correct.

Most locos are correct.

Seems very strange to me.
