Gulp, I knew this forum had moderators - but bouncers too!!  :worried: Brian
Eternal vigilance is the price of liberty." Wendell Phillips.

Eternal paranoia is the price of liberty: vigilance is not enough. Len Deighton.

Some little s*ds pointed a laser pen at me when I was on my bike and I ended up falling off (luckily onto a grass verge). They thought it was hilarious
Just one Pendolino, give it to me, a beautiful train, from Italy

Sorry mate I am going to have a total sense of humour failure here, as someone who works in the aviation world, I know that some idiots have used these pens for exactly that purpose with near lethal results, this last thing that is need is for people to make a film of it and put the ideas into other idiots heads, it is irresponsible.
Fortunately a number of these neanderthals have been caught and prosecuted

One these cases was in gosport Hampshire, shows the intelligence of the person doing it, the aircraft he pestered on multiple occasions was Hampshire polices air support unit  ::)

I don't condone the use of laser pens for anything other than their intended use.

The video is not in anyway suppose to glorify or encourage such use of the pens for this "habit". If the moderators feel it is not suitable I am more than happy to have the link removed.

Sorry if I have offended anyone.

A great range of items for sale on that internet auction site  :D

I watched the video very soon after it was posted and I am very aware of the dangers of these laser pointers.
The police helicopter here in Newcastle has been buzzed a few times and as far as I know each time the offender(s) were caught and dealt with.

I decided to let this one go as I could not imagine any of our members being influenced by what is obviously an attempt at humour.  This person has numerous You Tube videos and some I find slightly amusing the majority I don't.

If you don't like his humour, do what I do and click on the stop button and move onto something that will amuse you.  I don't think it is the moderators job to turn this forum into a nanny state, so please use your own judgement as to whether you watch videos like this or not.

cheers John.

Absolutely not having a go at you, it is the idiots who produce such stupidity that encourage others as our membership have already stated and as John says nobody on here would be so stupid.  Just annoys me that someone would produce the film and find it funny  :(

Apart from inside uses on presentations, I do have an outside use, and it does involve pointing up into the sky ... astronomy events, showing people where constellations, stars & planets are.  First used one @ the Mallorca Observatory, was invaluable to us.

But the big caveat (definately important @ the MO) was 'make sure you're not pointing at an aircraft' - especially as they use the MO as a navigation point & come damn close (both in height and distance) !!!

Must say I agree with both the comments of 'Lawrence@ re these. As the father of a long haul BA pilot I know how daangerous they can be in the wrong hands and unfortunately the wrong hands happen more often than most of us think. I am sure (and believe) this would not encouragee anybobdy who uses thiu forum to copy what the Video shows but for some it could offer a temptation.
