On my way home tonight I saw a white Transit van with a red stripe down the side and in that stripe were the bold letters "Rope Rescue Unit"
I am wondering how you rescue a rope? Maybe throw it a ..................rope ??? :confused1:

Oh Ye Mockers :-

Rope Rescue Unit
High platform and rope rescueWhy we have a Rope Rescue Unit

The fire service has a responsibility to rescue people from above and below the ground level. Cheshire's answer to this is the Rope Rescue Unit (RRU) based at Knutsford.
What we do

The unit is called to approximately a hundred emergencies per year. We perform such tasks as:

Towing Dave The Plaster Home after his Tranny drops a cog
   Tug-O-Wars
   Scaffolding (Saturdays Only)

We have also been involved with assisting the ambulance service with overweight patients (By using our special rope to winch the fat buggers into the back of our tranny), children from trees and body recovery from rivers and sewers using our lasoo  techniques.
