Hello,

This is my first post on these forums. I have been away from model railways for many years but have recently decided to get back into it. I have a collection of N gauge, mostly Farish from the 1970's and 1980's, most of it my fathers, he no longer models and also hasn't for years.

Amongst the collection is a BR Green Hall named Moreton Hall, it is my father's. I have a few old Graham Farish catalogues but cannot find it in any of them, although the oldest is from 1982.

I have never seen it working, I think sometime in the early 80's it become a non runner and is dismantled.

I would love to get it running again, especially as my father is ill and I think he would enjoy seeing it working.

Is it feasible or even worth it? I suspect it needs a replacement chassis, I am unsure what it's problem was and I don't think my father can remember!

Does anyone have any information on this model as I cannot find any reference to a Farish Moreton Hall on the web?

Thankyou,
Peter.

Hi,

Most older farish models are pretty simple, where are you in the country, there could be someone close to you who could assist ?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I am in Stourbridge in the West Midlands. I used to use Modellers Mecca in Wall Heath years ago, I think they are still going, may take a trip up there over the weekend!

Yes they are and they are a member of our little forum too, so definitely worth a visit I'm sure they'll be able to repair for you, failing that you could give Bob at BR Lines a call (www.brlines.co.uk) ... He probably tested it before it was bought by your father and he still repairs them :D

Hi,

Thankyou very much for your help and advice, that looks like a very useful website.

:thankyousign:

I am looking forward unpacking all the old loco's once I have laid some track to run them on!

Peter.
