Hi galway,

Maybe been mentioned before but tried to translate your quote thing after your name and all I've got is something about keeping a dog swearing or possible lighting of a candle for you!

Please translate. Saying that, my grandmother was from Cork and I couldn't understand a thing when she was speaking English.

Been to Galway, lovely place and lovely people. Especially much lovelier people than Dublin or Cork!

Cheers Weave.

Weave hopefully this explains:

The quote means :- You can carry on cursing the dog or you can light a candle

Or in other words don't blame the dog because you tripped over him in the dark

Or in other words don't keep on blaming others for your problems, try sorting them out yourself

If you ever make a return trip you're more than welcome to pop in for a cup of tay and some brown bread

Regards
Paul

Thanks Paul,

Was just interested as you could have been insulting someone and they would never have known  :) Haven't been to the emerald isle for a long time now. Used to go loads. Remember seeing the orange and black coaches and locos at Rosslare Harbour and Cork as a kid and thought they were fantastic.

So much more interesting than the BR blue (no offence guys but live in Surrey and everything was a little boring after a while, except the Waterloo - Exeter train. I was young and naive).

If I ever get to go again would prefer a drop of the black stuff if that's ok  :beers:

Cheers Weave

All now but a memory - even the award winning harbour station has been replaced by a ghastly metal thing a long walk away and mis-signposted.
