I finally received the the latest NGS Journal here in California this past weekend and noted it contained reviews on the Farish Standard Class 5MT, two Class 24s in new liveries, and the old Poole bodied Western in new Maroon livery.

My usual stockist (Hattons) lists these all as pre-order only so mabye I need to find a new stockist.  Does anybody know if a shop has these available for purchase?   Or is this a case of Farish making air-freighted examples available for review before the rest of the batch arrives by boat?

Hi Matt

It is normal practice for manufacturers to air freight in review samples so I would expect things to arrive soon-ish.

The 5mt has now been in most mags for review. Infact they have arrived at bachmann and are to be shipped out to stockists this week. I should get a good look at one in our delivery tomorrow.

The Class 24's and western are currently on the boat on the way over from China

I reckon if anyone knew the answer to that one, I'd beg them for the lottery numbers :hmmm:

On page 29 of latest journal they have a re-liveried class 37/0 in EWS.

Anyone know of release date yet?

I believe they are currently on the same boat as the 24's, if not then they are on the one behind it! :D

My copy of the GF 2012/13 catalogue arrived this week.

I see that despite the blurb on the GWR page saying 'Our GWR range this year includes locomotives covering all operations from mainline working to shunting, ...'  there's only two locos shown. One is 8750 pannier in BR black and the other a 57xx in LT maroon.

Not quite all operations methinks!

They've done 'em all to death in the past so they probably think no-one is interested in GWR kettles anymore. Besides it looks like Dapol does all the G*R stuff now so it's probably best to get their brochure.
