Howdy everyone,

Im off to Wales for a holiday in about a week with my father to see his brother and his other half, they live in Llanddewi Brefi so Im wondering besides the countryside walks, is there many places of 'interest' for a rail enthusiast to visit? Im not sure if its close to the festiniog railway you see.
If anyone has any pointers or ideas It would be appreciated.

There is *nothing* near it, quite literally. It's a place whose main claim to fame was LSD manufacture and where the last major event was the Synod of Brefi in the 7th century. It does have some amazing church history and architecture but no trains.

I guess your nearest railway stuff would be the VoR or Corris. You could take in a few bits of the old Carmarthen/Lampeter line on walks as it passes within a mile or two.

Hmmmm looks like it may be a few good books and plenty of long walks, bet the nature up there is amazing.

A bit disappointing but I will manage I hope. Should be a good trip non the less, and plenty of photo opportunities on the way up there as a good long train journey up there  :smiley-laughing:

Wales is so great because there's not much to do. Enjoy life in the slow lane, its fab :)
