Loco crews

When I look through the model mags the 00 gauge pics so often show a loco with crew in typical positions.

I know we have Scenecraft and the somewhat dated white metal offerings, but surely there's a market for something a bit better.
Preiser figures are amongst the best around (IMHO) and I feel we could do with British loco crews to this manufacturers standard. This would complement the higher standards of loco detail now becoming the norm.

Perhaps this is the sort of thing the NGS could be looking at as more of their wagon kits are appearing as RTR?                        With the right level of detail at the right price they would surely fly out of the NGS shop, most people requiring several sets.

Those Kato train crew figures look like gaurds/conductors & ticket collectors rather than footplate crew.

Trouble is, nobody's got any, even Bachmann (as I discovered on their stand at TINGS) and my sources with the better prices say they've been waiting weeks for them.
I guess they're on that kayak with my Ivatt 2MT

Need to have their bases cut off for some machines but on other locomotives you would not see the bases though.

No connection but have bought and used them on some of mine.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions guys. The suggestions of currently available crew actually prove my point...we could do with some finely detailed U.K.loco crew in typical poses. As an example we see pictures of drivers leaning out of cabs, sometimes the fireman as well. I just feel that the addition of some detailed crew in various poses would be the icing on the cake. Some manufacturer will cotton on to this before too long, and I'm sure will reap very healthy sales.

Not yet in N scale - still not quite there. In OO just about, in O yes and in G you can 3D print scanned models of real people that are quite good.

The scenecraft 1950's traincrew are ok, they just need a little "weathering"as no one gets to stay absolutely clean on the footplate, even if they use a separate set of overalls for oiling up, and in BR days, cleaning was at a premium even on the outside, never mind between the frames.
Whilst on the subject, having fitted crews to several locos, I found that when I came to fit a crew to the Farish STD 5, I had to remove the rear windows on both sides, and move the pedestal with the blower valve across the cab, as for some reason, it is planted right in the corner of the driver's side of the cab, which is where the reverser is supposed to be.
