Just wondering if anyone know whether the green class 108 shell can be swapped with the NSE one? Newer Farish model, also are the interiors different and if so would it have been typical in real life to have seen an NSE DMU with the older interior seating or were they fully refurbed while being painted.

Also I know this has come up before can't find any definitive answer, are the square High Intensity Headlights available as a parts piece? Looking to add one to a blue/grey DMU and a few class 87s.

Thanks for any help.

If it helps, I swapped a shell of a Regional Railways Farish 101 out for the green "whiskers" shell of the original defective driving trailer and it was like-for-like, I can't see that a 108 would be any different like-for-like replacement.

I did notice that a 101-for-108 swap might not be quite as easy as the PCB (the front LED specifically) is very slightly different.

Ratio did do the headlights as a plastic part - can't find any listed online tho.

I think BHE do them as a fold up etch.

Have Farish done a NSE 108?? I only remember the 101 (both Poole and Chinese versions) in NSE livery.

Regardless, all current chinese made DMU bodies are swapable for the same type e.g. 108 DMBS for 108 DMBS, 101 DTCL for 101 DTCL, but a 101 body doesn't fit a 108 chassis and vice-versa, and neither is compatible with the Poole era 101.

Interiors for each specific vehicle type are all the same regardless of livery, but are different for each car in the set. I dont recall a difference between the 101 and 108, but I've never had the need to swap around...

Afraid I've only seen the NSE livery on 101. Bh enterprises http://www.bhenterprises.co.uk/about-us.html

Farish haven't released a NSE class 108. They did exist though. 54194 + 51916 was one such unit:

There are several more to be found on Flickr, including this one at Clapham Junction:

F2233 or F2234 from Fox transfers should help if you decide to do a repaint!
