9 years old today
took him on as a rescue at 6 months  :hmmm:

so had him for 8years, 6 months - a good decision  :hmmm:

would we be without him -  :hmmm:

is he a well trained and obedient animal -  - he's a HUSKY  :*(

would I be happy to return him to the rescue team -  :hmmm: -

for all his [many] faults, he is OUR husky, and we wouldn't be without him .....

of course, if anyone offered a shepherd in exchange   :hmmm: :uneasy:

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

----------------------------------------------------------

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

Happy B'Day to HB.
To celebrate I've unapproved your political post :P

Happy birthday, HB!

Rescues/rehomes are the best! (Sorry, Lexie, no offence...)

Cheers,

Happy Birthday  HB

Nah, you wouldnt trade him for the world, a case of Scottish Mineral water is the only thing likely to get you to consider it but youd look a right fool taking a grouse out for a walk!!!

don't think I could  :hmmm:
unless I found a bigger idiot than me  :-[

he has now changed his 'last treat at night' from humbugs to fudge  :confused1:

won't settle down til he has had one.

still, fudge is quieter than him crunching humbugs

what a shock....
today, after a run off lead around the first field, with mouse hunting, HB was attached to his lead for the walk through the woods to go into the second field ...

halfway through the woods we saw a ?deer? cross along the bridleway

as we crossed the bridleway, the deer ! [confirmed] was down to our right, grazing off one of the hedges..

in the years since we moved here in 1997, I've only seen deer once, and that was the other side of the railway line, as they ran down the other side of the hedge..

HB, however, was more interested in his walk, so we carried on into the 2nd, then 3rd fields, where he had a run off lead.

obviously don't have deer in the artic, or he would have showed more interest...

or is it just that it is easier to get the idiot on the other end of the lead to open a can of dog food  :hmmm:

HB knew he wouldn't be able to chew frozen meat from a lorry ;)

And kinder on the teeth of a 9 years old Husky!

Happy Belated Birthday to HB.  :beers:
David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

I've been watching a few youtube videos on Sherpa the husky, is Oscar anything like him?
Cheers, Trev.

well, he doesn't jump up at people, which is one good thing, but he does tend to wander off ahead, and as with most Huskies, suffers from selective hearing...

call him and he won't hear, open the velcro flap on a pocket containing treats... CAN HEAR THAT
