Newbie - dumb question?

I am very new to building the layout and am getting  on with the scenery atm. I have purchased quite a lot both new and used locos, coaches and goods wagons and as yet have only had a problem with my last one which I am fixing. Some of these 2nd hand ones were almost £100 just for the loco (£130 new) and have been as good as new. My first one i got was a tank engine for £47 not a mark on it and runs like a dream. If you find something you like check out all the photos and ask questions if needed then fingers crossed and bite the bullet. If you do go for the one you linked and there is a problem you can ask for a refund or put it in dispute as the company will refund you the money.

as it has DCC already fitted. T

The listing details say that it is only DCC Ready with no decoder fitted nor supplied so, presumably someone has removed the decoder for something else. Because it's a DCC controller they have not tested it other than plugging the controller in and seeing if lights light up.

I saw that after I posted but it does highlight the issue of lack of availability.
I'm thinking that maybe I will do a ground up build and not bother with a starter set at all.
