That's horrendous :o
The rest of my post would be deleted so I have self moderated and left it unsaid >:(

Totally agree with your sentiments and I would Jail the ****rs for a ten year stretch but I expect , if they are ever caught they will probably be sent on a holiday to help them with their obvious emotional problems....... >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

On a different note it doesn't say much for the CCTV coverage from whatever signal box controlling that crossing. I thought that the idea was that the signalman checked that the crossing is clear. Or is this the old school railwayman in me just getting grumpier.
Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

Very upsetting to read. Glad no one hurt or train derailed.

It pains me deeply to say but a sign of the times

I know what I would want to happen to those idiots. But I won't post it, as this is a family forum  >:(

As a train driver myself I find all this very alarming. I am heaing all sorts of stories lately even people using laser pens shone at the driver. Disgusting.

I'm a bus driver,I don't require any sympathy because I chose this over bankruptcy, anyway, around six or seven years ago this was quite a regular occurance with the laser pens with the lesser intelligent species which are known by the term feral youth. We do still get the odd laser penist, but not anywhere near as often as before. My guess is they've reverted back to the house brick or half a house brick thrown at a window as we pass.
Another point on the laser pen craze a few years ago was,I read somewhere or saw on telly, perhaps it was Skycops, some youths were being tracked by police helicopter and used a laser pen to try and blind the pilot.
Another one was, police managed to track a repeat offender using a laser pen from a high rise block of flats, which just so.happened to be under the flight path of approaching trans atlantic jet airliners.
How nutty and how scary is that people of this persuasion regularly and routinely are allowed to walk down any street like us everyday?
It boggles the mind.

Best to remain speechless at crazy acts like that because if I wrote what I really thought I would have to lock the thread.

Like the idiots that start bush fires they should lock them up and chuck the key away.

Far too expensive. Perhaps we could just fit them with a ball and chain. The next one they start would then be their last.

I am in total agreement with all of the remedies suggested here, and then some. But as a semi-retired high school teacher of some 37 years, may I suggest that the punishments touted here are also applied to the parents of those involved? It has been my experience over the years that often trouble like this can be traced back to parents, or rather, lack ofparenting. In fact, some of the parents I have met are actually worse than their kids!

It goes back through the generations, each one a bad influence on the one after. Clearly the whole problem started with Eve 8-)

Anyway I think we should remember that we are not dealing with a frivolous situation here. It really is horrifying and should remain mindful of that. I feel I've taken the thread where it shouldn't be going. Apologies.
