I saw this yesterday and I am not ashamed to say it made my eyes a bit damp.

Both Lewis and his team have done a lovely thing there. I always think that people involved in things like this (the chaps who delivered / unloaded the car at the boys house for example) go home at the end of the day thinking "that was a good day".

I have no problem with Lewis, he is an immensely talented driver who had success (and massive wealth) at a relatively young age. As will all sportsman / women, it's inevitable he will go a bit "mad" (clothing, music, fashion, lifestyle with celebrities etc) but surely it's ultimately harmless?

He understands the concept of team.  He knows he is a great driver, however he always acknowledges that he would not be where he is without the rest of the team.

Yes @Snowwolflair , quite correct, he almost always thanks the team first after every success (or second, after some whooping  )

Yes, he's very good at thanking everyone else when it goes right. He's not always so good at taking it on the chin when it doesn't go right though!

Great gesture though, some great PR for him and the team.

LH (or "Britain's Lewis Hamilton" as he is very very often called by TV news reporters) has grown on me because he seems to wear his heart on his sleeve rather than being purely a plastic PR puppet* like so many in F1 have been.

And also he unwittingly and in a roundabout way once gave me a right good laugh when the BBC subtitlers called him "Lewisham Milton". by which name which he is forever known, in my mind anyway.

*and I'd like to award myself today's alliteration award for that.

what happened :

Ireland forced Wales team keep the roof open, exposing the arena to the stormy weather that had hit south Wales, yet the 7 year old mascot, wearing his Wales shirt and shorts, was totally exposed to the elements and was clearly feeling it.


He then noticed that he was holding the hand of a very cold young lad and removed his anthem jacket before wrapping it around the young boy

A small act of kindness that helps to show that the Wales skipper is far more than just a rugby player.   superb PR and a headline for the right reasons
