An experience with a courier

As you contracted with Hattons for "next day" delivery and paid a premium for this enhanced service, Hattons are clearly in breach of that contract (having been failed by their subcontractor).

I did this with a major on line supplier (electrical) in similar circumstances. They refunded the full cost not just the delivery charge plus sent a replacement by Royal Mail/Parcelforce next day service along with a £10 voucher.

The original courier did eventually dump the original parcel on the doorstep several days later (I was in but he didn't bother knocking) When I reported this to the seller, they gave a freepost address to send it back to (by Royal Mail)!

The original courier in this case? it wasn't Yodel but they have been mentioned in this thread...
