I've just received a couple of the Farish steel wagons (thanks Russ!) .......... cracking models.

Doing a bit of reading this morning about the prototype, I've learned that two versions were produced.

BYA numbered 966001 - 966260 were built 1998-99 - internal floor arrangements meant they tended to carry coils

BRA numbered 964001 - 964050 were built 1999 - they originally had fixed rails inside and were used to carry steel lengths

So, here's the thing .................... my two models are labelled BRA and carry the number 964063  ???  ???

I guess other modern wagon "nuts" have already spotted this and I just haven't looked in the right place to read the comments!

On the other hand, maybe the numbering is correct - if so, I'd be very interested to hear the explanation.

Thanks very much

Adrian

If you look in Martyn Read's site you will see the code and number is correct - there is a BRA numbered 964063.

Cheers Mike
