I've just bought a pair of the GF BR Mk1 BCK Coaches ADB977109 in Departmental yellow. Can anyone point me towards information on where they might appear in a typical rake. Text or pix would be a help. TIA, Brian

Found these on a quick Google search. Looks like you'll need a 3D print crane kit unless you can find a picture of a set of packing vans on a re-railing job using Kelbus gear without a crane?

Rerailing coaches/vans generally ran in threes (as you can see from the photos above): there would be somewhere for the re-railing crew to ride, there'd normally be a tool van (often including a generator), and then a third van containing packing material (old sleepers etc).

Cranes only went out on the few jobs where their lifting capability was needed. For a common, simple derailment (including locos), the jacks etc carried in the vans would be sufficient for the job.

The Dapol fish van matching yellow would be a good addition to the train.

Happy modelling.

Paul Bartlett is the always quoted place for photos just about every bit of rolling stock...

If you put in "BR re-railing equipment" into google and select "images", at least the first 4 photos are his anyway.

I put in "br re-railing formation" and it's come up with some photos of works.

...I know there's a semi-kit based on 3 mouldings but I always thought it a shame there was never an off-the shelf crane kit for UK N-gauge.
