Byegad

Having been forced to learn the descant recorder in my yoof, with minimal success it has to be said. I bought a Bass recorder when I took early retirement 9 1/2 years ago and taught myself to play it using music for the Alto recorder. After a year of practice I could play several tunes to my own and my wife's satisfaction. While I don't play often I really enjoy the odd times I pick it up.

Thanks gents! :) *blushes* ;)

Ideas for other shapes/themes for guitar bodies always welcome - commissions considered, too! :)
Like you, I have built a few guitars in my time. Not as adventurous as yours however.  With one exception mine were all in a quest for the ultimate Telecaster.  I started on a total of seven of which five were completed.  The best one was a major departure from Leo's ideal as it had a pair of pickups and the wiring loom/switches from a Gretsch White Falcon.
Anyhow, while my Tele's were made from a set of plans that I got from Jason Lollor, the craziest one, the exception referred to above was more original.  I don't have the working drawings available now but I found the attached pic on an old lap top that I was cleaning up before giving to a friend.  It's rough, just a 'sketch' done in a graphics prog.  I did start to make it but didn't have time to finish it before I packed up and returned from living in the US...

Wondered if you might find it interesting.....

There, doesn't that feel better?
Lovely!

I may appear to be listening to you, but inside my head, I'm playing with my trains.

I have recently taken up the guitar again, I never really learned anything last time and I sold a Epiphone Les Paul standard I had, I wish I hadn't. My son is very good player, he has a few guitars, a few years ago I bought him a new Strat so now he has lent me his old Squire Strat fitted with new strings and also a Fender electro acoustic guitar.
I also play keyboards I have a Yamaha Motif Synth, I have had keyboards and I had a double manual organ a few years ago. I love Music listening too and playing and I am fortunate in having the loft with a computer keyboards and my model railway, my den.

I am a bit chuffed today I nearly managed to play a tune on the guitar, I need to work on the strumming.

I reckon you'd have to be a multi-limbed sea creature to play that.

What do think Railsquid ?

Best regards,

Joe

I have bought myself a small guitar, the size suits me more than the Fender and besides the Fender was borrowed from my son. It is a Ibenez Talman, which has a small body and slim neck design. I bought it at a good price from GAK online, excellent next day delivery too.

Some will say you could have bought another loco for that and some would say (swmbo) you have enough loco's....he...he

port perran

Looks very nice Chris.
Hopefully you will find it comfortable to play.
I try to do about 30 mins practise each day (not sure you'd know it though) and have just finished a session.
Enjoying it immensely.
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Thanks Port Perran, It is probably not has good has the Fender and being a small body not has loud. But is a electro acoustic, and I love the small body. My eldist son has one so I saw it when I went to visit on Wednesday, I only paid £136 for it and with a free Korg Metronome thrown in as well. I have given his back now so he can't say I have nicked it. I can more or less play two songs now just need some work on my strumming, Like you I just love it.
