Pete Waterman will be talking to Paddy O'Connell about the Hornby " slide" (< as they called it) on Broadcasting House, Radio 4, Sunday 9am.

Heard that in a trailer on PM earlier, no mention of it on the BH website though.

Hi Agrippa,

I imagine Pete Waterman is like most of us:  We may focus on our own gauge most of the time but we have a vague (self) interest in the success of model railways as a whole, and in that context a failing Hornby is not great.

In any event, I would suspect Pete hasn't been asked on because of any perceived "beef" but just because he's relatively well-known, makes no secret of his enthusiasm for model railways and is a well-informed, entertaining and compelling speaker on the topic.

cheers

Bear in mind, he's "allowed" Hornby to use his name for a series of engines (no doubt for a nice pile of wonga)

Cheers Ben and Mike, if Pete can help the Hornby situation good luck to them both,
especially as Hornby is an iconic name (my first train set was a clockwork Hornby
loco with 2 wagons ,work out my age!) . Unfortunately in  commerce there is little
sentiment in the stockmarket , hopefully something will work out , probably
de- listing the best option so we'll hope for the best.

By the way the Waterman layouts on YouTube are awesome, huge trains
thundering by, probably no need for DCC sound as the normal
running sound would drown it.
