Chris, just seen this thread and want to wish you well in your recovery. As someone with a debilitating illness myself I know how it can make you look a bit stupid on the forums at times! Just take it easy and don't try and do too much. Easier said than done I know and I learnt this the hard way. Good to hear you got through your hospital stay though.

My ex's family all had this awful disease and my friends daughter also has it.

Take it from me try anything you can to avoid surgery. It is very difficult to get the right balance of drugs and will take time to control the condition. It can be controlled but never cured I'm afraid. A number of situations can trigger it and each person is different but stress is a common one.

If it get's very bad then it can end up with a colostomy, not very nice and I hope this never happens to you pal.

Take the drugs and stick with it and hope you get it under control.

I'm one of the new guys on the block and I have been running through the old threads today gaining some great info.

Of course, I came accross your Crohn's disease thread with dismay and note that you are online tonight and would just like to wish you all the very best and trust that you are continuing to progress.

It is obvious from the responses that we are amongst good friends on this Forum and it is always good to share a problem with others - especially understanding ones, some of whom have their own medical problems like myself to deal with. I am pleased to note that you continue to contribute and look forward to seeing your comments for many years to come!

Hi Chris

Sorry to hear your news.
I have a brother with Chrones who tried the drug route. So far he seems ok but has to watch what he eats. Also be ready for your body to change ie hair loss and weight gain due to steroids.
I had a friend who ended up having surgery route and still has health problems and was touch and go for a while.

The best thing to do is watch what you eat
