Not sure exactly which station, but I've heard there is one only a few minutes by train from NEC and it has a free car park close by.

Marston Green - it's a bit of a faff to get to from the motorway but free parking and only a couple of quid for a return ticket to Birmingham International. The other option is Hampton-In-Arden.

Alternatively, last year on Sunday it was less expensive to park in the centre of Birmingham and get the train from New Street than park at the NEC!

I seem to remember the Maglev car ending up being sold on e-bay.

I thought it was in the National Collection ?  Something from there is ... I saw it in York last I was in.

A quick google suggests you are all right. One is at York, one went on eBay.
All i remember is one of them was broken, as we stood in it for a while to no avail but we had a go on the other one...
