Friends,
To those with a fear of soldering, I have been practicing my skills or lack of!

I had no idea if I could keep both my hands steady enough to control the soldering iron and the solder stick in a coordinated fashion so I decided to concentrate on a long connector and then attach the other ends to a "D" socket.

It isn't perfect but I'm getting there!





To those who are still on the cusp, so to speak, it does get easier!

The 'D' connector looks very good Peter but I would dread trying to follow the other  :goggleeyes:

That looks pretty neat. I would however suggest you put some heatshrink over each wire then solder it then push the heatshrink over the join and shrink it. Otherwise inevitably (and always at the worst moment) something will finally short when the cable bends. Usually in a way that the short disappears when you remove the cable to investigate ...  :headbutt:
