Ruston-bucyrus 19rb

I came across this model, by "virtualweld" of a Ruston-Bucyrus 19rb Face shovel.  As it seems to be white metal(tin/lead alloy)  I don't wan't to open this packet up as the contents will go everywhere.  The packet says i need 5 minute epoxy glue,  Can some one recommend a suitable glue please, before i get fobbed off with the wrong thing?  we all know some dealers are like that!  Regards  Rodders

White metal needs a good wash with detergent to remove the stuff that frees it from the mould. A bit of detergent and a toothbrush. Dry thoroughly and then use Superglue Gel. Not the runny stuff. Epoxy is messy and smelly!

Haven't done too many train models in whitemetal but loads of Warhammer, and always use Superglue Gel.

My preferred method of glueing white metal kits together is to tack them in place with superglue, then go over the joins with a two-part 5 minute epoxy glue. This acts to strengthen the join as well as filling it in. Just make sure that it is all square and straight before applying the superglue (although it will often come apart again if needed with a little gentle persuasion, or soaking in hot water.)
