Although I'm not modelling anything specific as yet i'm starting to build up some trains of wagons.

At present I've got 5 EWS Seacows and I want to add to this load with a realistic assortment of wagons.  I've seen that there are a few choices, OCA's, MFA's, MEA's etc in EWS colours but the MFA's & MEA's are not Blue Ribband so i'm swinging towards the OCA's.  I know it's my world and my rules but just wondered if it would be suitable to have 5 or so of these with my Seacow's?

Hi

Engineers trains can have different types of wagons OCA's and Seacows could have been seen in the same train

Kind regards

You can also get away with OBA wagons as well. These look good too.

By that time you could almost anything in a train. However one point i do need to make is seacows were for clean ballast wheras things like ex OBA/OCA and the MFAs were for spoil so they would have been kept in seperate train when working to and from sites.

Yes dogfish and seacows could appear together but they died out before the seacow when the first autoballasters arrived as the seacows had a much higher capcity.

 :thankyousign:

I might stick with the Seacows on their own for now and build up a long-ish rake of EWS clad wagons of some other kind to give the 37 some variety.

In the second pic i presume the large wagons are sealions the next dogfish but what are the smaller ones?

The wagons you seek are Catfish and are effectivley cut down Dogfish wagons, they died out by the mid 80s.

How about this for a mixed engineers rake
