Class 108

Hi, hoping to have a go at building some platforms from wood. If I was to build a platform what height should it be if i am using n gauge code 80 track? For easy working out I will not be using cork under the track.

I measured the height of a peco plastic platform and it was 12 mm i think, but I did use a rubbish ruler!

thanks

Alan

I take a height of 6 mm measured straight from the base.

Platform heights on UK rail are 3' above railhead (well a metricated 3ft). In practice older platforms can be lower and the further back in time you go the more this is true, so it is important to check if you are modelling real locations.

Mainland european platforms are different, and if you are modelling HS1/HS2 as proposed that may be relevant in some cases.
