Post by: nobby on June 22, 2018, 08:01:31 AM
anybody know when dapol plan to rerun the schools class its been 2 years since the first release thought that they would be gearing up for another run by now , i know that there were problems with bent rods on models but mine with carefully handling are fine, hopefully some more olive versions to go with the soon to be released 4 comp brakes ,not had a chance to speak to them recently.

I'd guess with the amount of the original run Dapol still have in stock themselves they would be hard pressed to justify further production at the moment.

Yes did think that but i suppose thats what happens when you bring out liveries that are not popular and no coaches in the colour to match (malachite)

My thoughts also, anyone know what  quantities of each livery version were made on the first run? I see Osborn's are still showing Cheltenham as an exclusive but no mention of available stock.

I would suggest a limited run of  mainly Maunsell green with a few of the other livery options obviously with different numbers/names.

Yes - malachite looks great on a Greek urn but on a locomotive???

I would say the BR late crest version would sell well.

It's vague what Dapol's production model is. They seem to have made many versions of the Western/Class 22/Britannia/A3/A4 to the point of market saturation. They continue to drip feed the hymek. And yet some models like the Schools (and class 33s) only get a short run. Perhaps it is too soon to expect a second run?

As a comparison, a popular model like the Farish Warship for example - four were produced in 2008, four in 2010, two in 2013 and 1 in a set in 2014 and that's been their lot. Market saturated.

Has the Schools been expelled for malingering?

If you let the boiler run dry does the  school blow to pieces

And hopefully stronger side motion parts this time...
