Title: Piko NS "N" gauge track compatability
Post by: rurod on October 14, 2015, 12:01:28 PM
I have come into possesion of a Piko N Guage set minus the track it has a controller and two wires to connect to the track . What my problem is does anyone know how the track connects to the power supply and can I use any generic type out there ie Peco or Hornby etc get my set up and running or will t require specific Piko track ?
Thanks in advance .

Hornby doesn't do N gauge track, but pretty much any ready-to-run sets should run on any track system (Peco, Kato Unitrack etc.). Kato Unitrack is particularly easy to set up and use.

Any N gauge track will be ok, just depends on your preference. The controller
will have an output socket so all you need is to attach the  correct plug to
the wire and a power attachment for the track , or in some makes there are
track sections with a terminal for the wires.

Or you can just solder the wires to two track joiners (fishplates) and connect them to the track that way.
