Is now available in OO. £185 for the motor and trailing car only! Wish there was an N gauge model
Damn - I had my bags packed for a weekend in Brighton
Whoops - left out the B in Hornby in the title originally! Now changed it.

:smiley-laughing: Excellent!!!
Careful, a Brighton Belle these days may or may not be what you expect ..............
Back to the OP - I have seen the Rails of Sheffield news sheets and been gobsmacked by the price of the 00 set, although it does look very nice. There are all sorts of bigger stuff a lot of us woulld like to see shrunk to the proper gauge but I don't see it happening quickly. We're still waiting for the Blue Pullman ::) ::)
Used to travel quite often on the Brighton Belle back in the very early 1950s, not a bad old train.
Did that other forum (the one that just got bought out) not have an N Brighton Belle as a raffle prize last year ???

These days... I'm not all that fussy! :-X
There is a really nice pic of it in April's BRM. It would be nice in N.

I too rode it a couple of times in the 50's........externally it was only a flash painted set, it was very nice inside, but that will all be lost in "N", and it's severely lacking in "N" operational interest!!

It is an iconic train. The only electric pullman and it is being restored to run on the main lines. And it is such a smart looking train.
Compared to the amount of diesel and steam, us EMU fans don't have much to cheer about from Dapol and Farish. I would buy the BB - despite my reservations about Farish and Dapol.
I remember as a kid my Mum used to take us to Fips Bridge just outside Burgess Hill and we would see the Belle going through.
If it was available in N I would buy it.
Does it fit with what I am modelling - No but it's my railway and I'll run what I want...
Agree with Pendy though. If there were more RTR EMU's there would be more EMU buyers...

Saw both OO versions of the BB in Modelzone yesterday. They looks superb - the older version looks better. I hope it sells well (and the OO and N Blue Pullman sells well too) then perhaps we will get an N version.
