Title: Decoder One : Farish 66 Nil
Post by: stevieboy on January 13, 2014, 07:19:59 PM
I'm sure I'm not the first, nor will I be the last. Please remember to check that your decoder is still taped down when you put a body back on!

Thankfully I have a spare body

Is there an etched grill you can get for that body and save it?  Looks like only the roof that is damaged...

Cheers,

Good question. The day before everything was ok until I put my 'best' bodyshell on following successful installation of the decoder to 66200.

When I pulled the shell off one of the components was melted to the roof, hence I've assumed that this caused the meltdown.

I've double checked the wiring and no issues there. Needless to say I'll be keeping an eye on 66200. Happy to say that no other hardware was damaged, loco is running round on DC until a new decoder arrives.
