1 hour later, my nerves are shot... but it's done.

Just call me Ted, or Edward... or Ed.

Just not Eddie.

You have my sympathy mine was a painted blob by the time I'd finished, which paints did you use for the brass?.

I had to be very careful and very patient painting this. Undercoated/primed with my airbrush which helped keep the paint layer - which I did with a brush - clean of strokes and marks.

I actually didn't realise the levers were brass!  :help:

In all the photos they looked like a dark metal, so I used DecoArt metallic silver and mixed a little black acrylic in to deepen the metal sheen.

Well that's some detail!.. The brass caught me out as well, have the same to do with some fences.. Good to see you used acrylics, same here.. looks like I just need to spend more time priming!

Thanks.

Taking a jigsaw to the layout... 3 times..

Drastic yes,  but the only way to get an old board to fit on a new one.

Paddy

Just finished cursing my repainted Arnold crane - again!  I noticed it had a wobble and thought it was me.  Turned out to be poor design on this occasion.  I suppose to be fair it could be age.

Anyway, after some fiddling, filling, packing and reassembly it is much better.

Kind regards

Paddy

@Paddy I bet Maurice is open monday  :P

Mines up to engineering works this weekend

Paddy

Very nice @exmouthcraig.  Really like the crew coach - where did that come from?  One question I had was, when the cranes were painted black what colour were the support vehicle?  Were they black as well?

Kind regards

Talking of cranes, did you see Rails deal of the day yesterday?  They were selling the OO Bachmann crane for just under £200.  That is a lot of model for the money.

Kind regards

Crew coach is one of 2, the SR versions were painted red, as for elsewhere no idea. My 2 were just Dapol B sets painted, one that's not in the photo has had a good few windows plated over however it should be an old iron clad coach to be correct!!

I have Colin's phone number on standby for Tuesday!!!!

Didnt see the deal but my local shop has 1 in their display case and that really is an exquisite model!!! So glad we got ours though!!!
