ONLY ONE RULE ENJOY

Trainfish

I thought it was time to buy a few pieces of rolling stock for my roads which I haven't built yet. So I bought a couple of cars, vans etc

And I'm not sure why but I've always wanted one of the white DMUs so when Hattons had one in their second hand section I couldn't resist. It's probably the quietest runner I have from the old style DMUs too!

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

Are you opening a Car & Van Hire dealership, John?

Love the Tornado, although those white Poole DMUs also appeal, for some perverted reason. I am a bloke firmly ensconsed in green diesels, remember.

Could be 'cos they apparently run well!

I've asked the wife for a multi-storey car park for Christmas so I need to fill it with something! I could do with something other than minis and 2CVs though.

Not strictly my latest purchases, but I do appear to have got my hands on 2 GEM GCR 11F Kits and some 'rocking horse excrement' (GCR D and 9N Kits)

oh and for those not familiar with the prototypes for these kits, they are thus:

GCR 11F (LNER D11/1)

GCR 9N (LNER A5)

GCR D (LNER M1)

Firefox

I like Tornado. What a fantastic model and great colouring.

Just arrived this morning from DM Toys; a pair of Fleischmann Bogie Timber wagons (ref. 825408). OK, so technically this should be in the Continental section but as I'll be using them on my British layout, and not all UK modellers are aware of what is available in terms of continental rolling stock, I thought I'd post here.
To my eyes, they look good enough to masquerade as the Cargowaggon conversions (TOPS code IWA) seen on trains to and from Chirk mixed in with the KSA types. Rivet (or, in this case, stanchion) counters might disagree... For reference, they are about 3.5mm shorter than a Dapol Cargowaggon.

Shown between a Dapol Cargowaggon and a Farish VGA for comparison. The stanchions can be straightened, I just didn't have time this morning.

Birthday present for myself.

Has anyone done the Photographic grey livery version in N??

I feel an unbirthday coming on!
