That's unfortunate.
Have you been assisting Nadim Zahawi on his tax by any chance?  :smiley-laughing:

Mick, I'm not even going to begin trying to talk you through summat', but if you google "what is permission denied 403" there seems to be some answers as to how to solve it.

Hope you get it sorted. I can't face another Zoom session dealing with them charlies all on me own!

Mick,

Are you accessing the forum through a shortcut on your desktop, if so have you tried addressing the forum direct www.ngaugeforum.co.uk or via google or similar search engine.

I assume the permission error message is you trying to get onto this forum (not some other site?)

Have you maybe logged out of the forum again or cleared browser cookies? Try logging in again?

I stay logged in all the time (unless a forum software update kicks me out), never get these problems :)

What does the link you use to access the forum actually look like?   I just use  "unread posts since last visit" as my starting point.

Hi Mick

I didn't give any advice previously as I don't know what you are talking about, but I will be on the call with the other M and Ms on Monday. All being well.

I can host it if you like, if you don't have any other Charlies to help  ;)

Of course, you might not be able to respond to this.

Amazing that you can get on the forum at all with a Nokia 3310  :D

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

I have Internet and Zoom so will be OK for the Monday meets and can browse other sites with no issues.
I use an Opera speed dial to access the forum but have also tried typing out the full forum name with the same result.
I clear cookies frequently and can log onto the forum on my phone (obviously) so it's a laptop thing

Why?   Probably doesn't help :)

Maybe the site thinks you're logged in but can't find the cookie it expects.

Try clearing all of the cookies in your browser.  This may clear the problem.  Good luck.

Well - the thot plickens.
I've just fired up the old laptop and got straight onto the forum via the Opera speed dial. I've not cleared cookies or anything since trying this morning. I'm hopeless with this stuff but maybe successfully logging on using my phone has somehow cleared something? :dunce:
Thanks to all who have responded. Yes - even Trainfish :P
