I hate to be pedantic (  ), but Australia is on the opposite side of the world, so whichever way you look, it is in the direction of Australia...

Oooh, you want pedantic eh? Actually wherever you are, there will be a limited range of angles where your gaze (assuming it follows the curvature of the Earth) would intersect some part of the Australian continent; in fact there will be two sets of angles, going both ways around the Earth.

Nope; the only location which will guaranteed to be at the end of your "line of sight" in all directions will be the other pole. You'd still need to turn through a certain set of angles to be facing Australia.

When I stopped by there in 2010 they had daleks strapped to the lampposts, which I thought was very cool. When I stopped by again three years later, I met NewportNobby under the Blackpool Tower, which was also cool.... I think 

Anyway, bit of rainy cloud over the "sandstone volcano" today:
