well these little beauties turned up this morning, and straight out to the garage to see them run round on the layout.

Another great job by the team at Revolution, also I should add this was the first outing for the re-liveried class 60 using one of Adam @captainelectra vinyls, I think it came up very well, just need the last one to arrive.

I've been waiting about 2 years for these to arrive... Farish 374-045 Mk1 BGs as converted to newspaper packing vans...

I was disappointed that they weren't mentioned in the January Bachmann update, and had assumed the delivery date had slipped again. Consequently notification that my PayPal account had been debited came as a surprise!

Robbie's Wagons have come up trumps again! These arrived today :D

I know, its an age thing, and I don't care if these wagons are well out of my late 70's to 90's era.  ;D

They are cool. Seen them a few times at exhibitions, really ought to invest in a set myself. Happy childhood memories and all that.

Lovely 9F. Is it me, or do the front cab windows on the green 9Fs look like they have been put on the wrong way around? The black version seems to have the lip on the inside with the glass pushing through?

Kind regards

Paddy, I have checked the 9F and the window looks ill-fitted, compared to Evening Star there is more brass window frame showing. Well spotted. I am unimpressed with the coupling rods, a little weathering will hide them. Runs well so far. Name plates have been ordered.

Hi Tony,

I think the window mouldings are handed and should be fitted from inside the cab. The photos of the black ones seem to show this has been done for them. The person/people fittting the windows on the green 9F has pushed them in from the outside. Shame as it looks a wee bit overscale compared to the side window.

Is it possible to pop the glazing out or is it glued in place?

Mind you, given the actual size of the loco, no doubt this is less obvious in real life. Close up photos can be very cruel.

Kind regards

Paddy

Two new purchases.

One was from an online retailer. The previous owner had decided to glue the tender top on, and got glue everywhere. I manged to cut the tender top off, and it's future will not be requiring the body anyway. It's a little jerky running, but a little tweak on the motion and a little oil and I'll run it for a while and see if it improves.

The other was a FleaBay item. The pair cost me a whisker over £200. Both work on DCC which is good.

I'm also training a new assistant. He can be very attentive, but has a habit of losing interest and wandering off.

Hi @emjaybee

Nice locos. If needed, you can get replacement tender chassis/bodies and pick-ups from What was BR Lines/Farish Spares.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Thanks Paddy, the reality is that hopefully, in the fullness of time, both chassis will be underneath a 3D printed Coronation Scot body, so the fact that the tender body is goosed should be irrelevant. Thanks for the info tho' will file it away just in case.
