If I had been pregnant I would have had to go to Rochdale
I think that if you'd been pregnant, you'd end up in a much better hospital - with an awful lot of specialists examining you constantly !  :P

...and a queue a mile long of folk wanting to be your manager!  :D

Just back from the dentist.  They decided I needed a "deep cleaning" and said it would have to be done with anaesthetic.  Little did I know that included four "palatal injections" into the roof of my mouth.  AAARGH!  Then to make matters worse, he hit the nerve that serves my tongue on one side instead of the nerve serving the lower left teeth  :veryangry:  felt like he'd stabbed my tongue with a red hot poker.  He apologised and then promptly did it again.  Now I've got numbtongue for the next 6 hours.  Oh, and the rinse he prescribed for the next ten days will probably stain my teeth green  :o (although that might be appropriate for my trip to Ireland at the end of May  :-X)

Very funny guys.....I knew I made a mistake posting that, but you have to have a laugh.

ozzie Bill.

Very sad and very angry. A dear and long held friend, 55 years of friendship. Met him at kindergarten! He decided he'd had enough so died by suicide last week. I can't believe that he is no longer around. We'd been mates for ever and I am really angry with him. I cannot know what he was going through, so must not be too angry and I need to find forgiveness for him, but I am hurting at the moment. Sorry for the grumble, but just needed to get it off my chest. Cheers, Bill.

So sorry to hear that, Bill. :(
I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive him as he was obviously 'in a bad place' and could see no other way out.

REGP

Bill, it's always difficult when you loose a buddy unexpectedly, only more so in those circumstances.
As Mick says he must have been in a "very bad place" hopefully in time you can see a way to forgive.

I can understand why you're angry Bill. I'm guessing you wish he'd shared whatever his troubles were with you in the hope you may have been able to help in some way and avoid his self-induced exit?  :(

Looking at it from his point-of-view for a moment (as I have unfortunately done in the past), when things are THAT bad you really don't want to burden anyone else with it and will actually go out of your way to hide it from others - admitting you can't cope with whatever is depressing you to that extreme is like admitting you've failed at life.

Try not to be too hard on him, I know it's not the ideal outcome but the one bit of solace you may find is that whatever it was that drove him to it can torment him no longer.

Aaaaargh,
As I mentioned the other day I'm due a second hernia op tomorrow along the coast in Hastings rather than in Eastbourne so SWMBO has had to take the day off work to transport me then collect me later in the day. Child care also had to be arranged as I need to be in Hastings by 8am just when my son is on his way to school. I hadn't expected the op quite so quickly so being a Scout leader had a camp organised for this weekend (I'm the permit holder etc) so had to cancel it at short notice.
Anyway at 4.25 the hospital rang to rearrange it for next week..........................

I was due to have a Spirometry test (lung capacity to you and me) this afternoon but the hospital have just phoned to say the lady who does the tests has fallen ill so they have deferred the test until 13th April.
It's really good to know there's no excess staffing at Chorley Hospital, eh.
God bless the NHS :veryangry2: :help:

I suppose the only up side is that they phoned before either of you set out for the hospital. My aunt had an appointment for an MRI scan cancelled because the wing of the hospital had a power cut. Mick, before you say anything, I know hospitals can't fly!  :)
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

I was due one back in November but as I had been on medication (steroids) the week before the nurse had to cancel it after I had been waiting in the queue for 35 minutes.
You must be clear of such medications for 6 weeks before the test can be done  :censored: :veryangry: :veryangry:
