Now you are talking boys! I saw KC twice, my trusty spreadsheet tells me I first saw them on 13 December 1972, my notes recall "King Crimson tour supporting their "Larks' Tongues in Aspic" LP. A dreadful support act led to a degree of frustration for the audience and Robert Fripp in the opening minutes of the KC set. John Wetton (RIP) apologised for his poor singing voice - duh!". RF responded to a slow hand clap at the beginning of LTIA (part 1) by stopping the music and suggesting that "if you do not like it, you could go off the bar (with a capital F!)" - true Frippery. I then saw KC on 01 September 2015 and my notes recall "It was 43 years since I had last seen KC and what a tour de force it was – three drummers no less! The set list covered the many KC reincarnations and I left aurally exhausted after a rousing rendition of 21st Century Schizoid Man. Robert Fripp did not look a day older." Red was the last studio LP I bought.

KC was great in the mid 70s with his Sunshine Band  :)

I just wrote a long reply about Robert Fripp's wife (who I saw perform over 40 years ago) and it disappeared! I m not typing it all again but suffice to say that if he ever needs a rest from her just send her my way for the weekend. I'm sure that me and her could do a Sunday lunch spot between us.

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

"It's a mystery" to me as to why you would want to do that John!

joe cassidy

Are we still talking about music on this family forum ?

Newportnobby

Nah - I think Trainfish is referring to Toyah's peanut smuggling

Thanks for that, Chris (I think)

Meanwhile, Maddy Prior MBE (and local lass from Blackpool) is on superb form with this, one of my favourite electric folk tracks

Papyrus

Probably my favourite Steeleye track too.

Chris

Went to see Ruzz Guitar for the umpteenth time last night. Always a good gig and a fantastic guitarist.
This isn't from last night but it's an example of what he does.

EDIT: This non-moving picture WAS from last night

That sounds pretty good to me.
No doubt you enjoyed a pint and a half whilst watching the band last night.
I couldn't help but be somewhat mesmerised by the chap in the brown coat in the top video tapping away to the beat with his fingers (except for the 30 seconds when he whipped out his phone for a brief video).
Cheers

I'll get round to fixing it drekkly me 'ansome.

Looking back at my banking app I must admit to having a few more than a pint and a half.

Friday October the 18th Ruzz will be supporting Wishbone Ash in the Corn Exchange if you fancy it. We also now have The Tap at the Peppermill within 50 yards of the Corn Exchange which will be visited beforehand as it's only Wadworths in the Bin (the locals' name for the Corn Exchange).

I've come across a new band to me this afternoon.
If you like smooth jazz with some nice guitar sounds and laid back sax give these a try.
Threestyle they're called :
