Interesting stuff.
I've given it a brief listen but it was enough to go back for more.

Gents, @Trainfish and @port perran ,

I am glad that the track was more of a "Hit" than a "Miss". I saw Hawkwind live in 1972 and 1973 both times at the Sundown Edmonton, London. I shouted out "Silver Machine" quite a few times at the second gig and eventually Dave Brock said "This is for the bloke at the back and it's called "Washing Machine" - true! One 16 year old most chuffed.

Cheers,

Tim

Bloody hell, I was 20 when I saw Hawkwind!
Vision over visibility. Bono, U2.

Had a listen to the Hawkwind track. I have the Mountail Grill album, but this track sounds very Dave Brubeck with added moog. Will look out for the full album.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

I think I was 18 and mesmerised by Stacia!

So was I, with both her and the stroboscopic lighting it was all too much - hence a "Brainstorm"!  By the way, Martin @port perran I was at a "Covenanter" camp at Polzeath in the summer of 1972 and we had a trip to Truro and went by boat down to Falmouth to the visit the docks. We were given some free time and my friend and I headed to a local record shop and listened to "In Search of Space" on the back of "Silver Machine" being a hit, and thus a new Hawkwind fan was born...to go...

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

I gave that track 2 minutes or so and thought it was more jazz fusion a la Camel than the Hawkwind of old. I saw them several times in the days of 'In Search of Space' and 'The Space Ritual' but also like the avant garde aspect of their first album.
Favourite track of theirs - Orgone Accumulator off Space Ritual. Simon King's drumming and Lemmie's bass are just awesome

Moonglum

Mick, towards the end of the track the jazz fusion thing fugues into something a bit more Hawkwindish! But it's nothing like "Orgone Accumulator", Nic Turner's (RIP) sax does a lot for OA as well as the rhythm section.

Cheers,

Tim

Trainfish

Still not Spirit of the age or Quark strangeness and charm which are at the top of my favourite Hawkwind tracks along with a few more.

Many people will have heard this before but if you are a fan of Focus, who I saw in about 1971, this is well worth listening to.
Jan Akkerman at, in my opinion, his very best.

Very tasteful Martin, not as I remember say "Moving Waves", bit more Jeff Beck (RIP). Must dash - back to the rugby!

I saw Focus at the de Montfort in Leicester when 'Moving Waves' was released and they've remained a firm favourite. A bit like Rush, for a trio they made a huge amount of noise!

How about a little listen to Charlie Hunter  with a track entitled Fine Corinthian Leather.
Slightly bluesy but very laid back and mellow electric guitar with a smooth sound beat.
