Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

----------------------------------------------------------

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

So, with respect, Alan, this thread is a false alarm?

shall we say my mind has been changed by a few of the member on here, ones that I respect,  and of course the hairy beast as well.
as he 'said' how would I get by without my daily groaner and daily cartoon  :hmmm:

Fruit?

Oh, right, no, sorry, just a turn of phrase 'round 'ere'. Sort of like "good job", although that's often phrased as "job's a carrot." It's a bit of an odd place.

I'm not sure that cleared anything up...

I was very sorry, and somewhat surprised, to read your opening post, Alan. I find it very strange that someone you have met, had dealings with in the past and obviously trusted should act in such a manner, especially when you consider you have his home address and presumably could go round and confront him. To give him the benefit of the doubt, I would at least consider the possibility that some calamity has befallen him (accident?, serious illness?, family or financial problems?). I know that does nothing to get your money back, but all the time you stay on this forum there is always a chance he might pop up again and hopefully you can sort things out between you. And as others have said, the place would be poorer without you.

Best wishes,

Chris

Browning 9mm

indeed, but I did not even get any response to my snail mail, which I had marked 'if moved please forward'.
I did think that at the least, his other half might have replied explaining if something had happened. Iassume someone must be either there, or popping in to check on things if, for example, he'd gone into hospiat, or on a world cruise.
not at all like him, hence my initial concerns for him.
