Poor Forum Performance

Hi Graham,

As we said, the gallery permissions are somewhat interesting at the moment, I'm looking into it and running a script to sort it out I hope.  Failing that I'll be taking the gallery away and re-imaging it, meaning any photos uploaded in the last two days will get zapped...

This unfortunately is the joy of using freeware front ends and then installing lots of different developers mods to make the forum work the way it does, then when moving from a badly coded media manager which uses all system resources to a new one there is bound to be an amount of tinkering required. 

It would be a lot easier to put the forum into maintenance mode but I was trying to keep it up for you all....

**Its also worth remembering that the forum is Free so whilst its an inconvenience to people remember you paid nothing to be able to store your images here anyway , and I'm being paid nothing to sort it out**

Forum working fine for me except the gallery just shows the word image and a small blue square if I touch that I get a black page with a white square and what I call a clock hand going round but then that's all .Am I doing something wrong .?
I have deleted the history on Safari but it  made no difference  .

If a 2 day outage would help sort the issues, then I think you should put up a warning and go ahead.

Sky do it overnight ( for a paid service) so do it and get it over with , and the Forum can buy the beer!

i have just spent 20 mins trying to upload a picture

If I use Reply and hit the picture upload icon, I get a permissions refused message ( or ni action at all).

i was eventually able to open a new album (June 2016 onwards) and upload the picture. s still teething troublrs.

(PS only 31KB so not a size problem)

2) have tried the rapid reply - allows me to fill in add picture pop up and then gives me inactive NGF page with no new message added)

I have been able to upload an image quite quickly. Getting into the gallery is slow

I just uploaded 1 picture and put it into 2 posts and all seemed good to me

I remember the days when people took photographs and then got some little sticky things and put the photographs into a paper, hand held album.  . Notwithstanding that, I, like everybody else, appreciate the lengths you are going to to get things sorted.

I have been uploading pictures using the Add image to post and upload to gallery bullet point with no problems.

It's being worked on right now by the author, so it's going through some changes and testing at various points.

Logged on at 20.00hrs tonight and within 5 minutes I've had 3 x Error 500 messages
