Stupid question time, did UK railways have anything like roundhouses as engine sheds, (especially on the GWR).  Only ask as I want to put a shed on the layout and a roundhouse style would fit much easier.   :beers:

There was the original Roundhouse at Camden on the London & Birmingham Railway, built in 1846, though, like several others, the turntable was actually under the roof of the building.

There is / was a roundhouse at St Blazey (GWR 100 per cent) I remember going there in the late 70's when it was full of Diesels. Also my fading memory thinks that there was a  form of roundhouse at Old Oak Common (Definitely GWR)  in use until the final days of that Depot.
Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.

One that doesn't have any corners to collect dust  ;D  ;D  ;D

Seriously, its a loco shed that either has a turntable inside with storage tracks directly off the turntable or can be an external turntable with a semi-circular shed around it with tracks directly off the table to the shed.

Caz. St Blazey was different in that it had the turntable with the shed accessed from it, but the turntable was in the open.

Old Oak Common had 3 roundhouses I believe .
There were others on the GWR eg Bristol (St Phillips Marsh), Aberdare, Swindon, Taunton, Newport (Ebbw Junction) and several others.
Other regions (notably LMS had several also).
St Blazet was unusual in being a half roundhouse,
I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

St Blazey Shed from above, I'm not sure of the date, it's obviously modernish, the caravan holiday park and slurry tanks wagons give a clue as to possible date.

Sadly there is next to nothing of it left now. Most of it is individual industrial units.
