The wife and I watched the Sven documentary on Sunday evening and I have to say it was really interesting, I probably didn't learn much which was new to me apart from maybe a bit more detail than I knew before especially about his wife and other lady friends. At the end with the final screen which had Sven say "Bye" I turned to my wife and said, that image will stick in my mind forever and I'll remember it vividly the day he dies. Well, I didn't have to wait long did I? Yesterday morning a newsflash popped up on my phone to say that Sven had died. It brought a tear to my eye after watching the documentary only 12 hours before.
Ok so Sven didn't actually win a tournament whilst manager of England but in my eye he started the turnaround of our national team to become 1 of the best in the world. He was passionate about England, football, his lady friends, everything in his life really. He stayed positive until the end and a lot of people would do well to do the same.
I'll miss you Sven.

His parting words in the documentary were these:
"I hope you will remember me as a positive guy trying to do everything he could do. Don't be sorry, smile. Thank you for everything, coaches, players, the crowds, it's been fantastic. Take care of yourself and take care of your life. And live it. Bye."
