Some Australians played a game against some Englishmen and won. So?

but that is the whole point, any sport especially cricket against the English, and swimming against the Americans.
Like @Bealman I have been here many more years than I lived in the UK, and there are good points to living in either country.

Big adjustment.

After 5 weeks of sunshine, warmth and light nights, this really is a shock to my aging system.....

Dark early, new bus stop signs and bloody cold!

Yeah - but it ain't summer down there, is it?
Now we've had the longest day we're starting on the slippery slope to winter.

The new bus stop and signs were probably erected whilst you were in the UK George.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

David.
I used to be indecisive - now I'm not - I don't think.
If a friend seems distant, catch up with them.

Whatever the merits of their ideas, I find that people who get involved in this sort of thing tend to be unremittingly earnest. Naturally, one appreciates The Importance of Being Earnest, but it wouldn't hurt to give it a rest from time to time.

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!
