Not sure of the problem with the angry thread. Its often good to just let off steam now and then and anyway most of the postings are not gripes but other people sympathising or offering solutions.

Ah but; this is the thread with the most views. Perhaps we all like to hear about other peoples misfortunes - shadenfreude?

I think it's in the British psyche to sound off about the bad whilst not praising the good, borne out by the sheer numbers of pages in the Angry v Happy threads :hmmm:
I'd like to see more praise where it's due, especially for the manufacturers as 3 years ago at TINGS I got quite an earbashing from Dave Jones (at Dapol then) on the basis the NGF didn't like Dapol.
It's time we got closer to the likes of Farish and Dapol - not push them away.

This is starting to sound like a rant............... :oopssign: :-[

It may have the most views, but it has been going since 29/3/11 which means its getting 2.5 posts per day and 73.31 views. Compare that ,say, with Peter's thread Do you remember which is getting 15.12 posts/day and 172.25 views. Won't be long before it's overtaken.

Now now Bob - you're in the right place, but let's not get angry  ;D

There's lies, damned lies, and statistics.

Or, how about this one ... Figures don't lie, but liars do figure.

Sorry, going way off topic  :sorrysign:

There's something else which makes me angry, people going off-topic in off-topic threads... what's the world coming to...?  :veryangry:

My Wife and I went to the doctors for our annual check up and to get some prescriptions, they also give us the results of blood tests,  usually things are OK.

What gets to me is the amount of extra things they want us to do, I have to go for a Bone Density Test, my Wife has to see a Podiatrist, Eye Specialist, Dietician and get a Bone Density Test.

I get the feeling doctors these days are looking for something to wreck your life, either that or they are making money out of referrals, either way all we want to do is get on with our lives.

Do doctors back home in the UK send patients for all sorts of tests, to me tests are fine if you are sick but a pain in the butt if you feel OK and a waste of taxpayers money.
Keep on Smiling
Dave.

You have paid your taxes so why not take the tests, even if it shows you are fully fit, at least you know the doctor has you and your wifes health in check, good luck with the tests.

Ah but, if they didn't give unnecessary tests your taxes would be lower. On a recent trip to the quack, he insisted I had a flue jab even though I didn't want one.

Yep I take your point but they would only spend the money else where for the same high taxes, I saw my doctor a few weeks back had some tests done and he said remind me to give you the flu jab, of course I never the wife had the flue jab and her arm was bad for 2 weeks.

You haven't mentioned the home bowel cancer test kit we get through the post every 2 years once you reach 60. You can have hours of fun with that! :D
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

You know what you can do with that............

A home test kit? I had mine checked out a few weeks ago which involved a day of Klean Prep (flavoured with lime as I hate it slightly less than vanilla) and then a camera up me bum. How would I do the latter part at home?

Actually I'm not so sure I want an answer to that and I won't be asking Agrippa for advice either
