Hi Longbridge from another ex-Brummie also in Oz.
You said a friend of yours has access to all sorts of spares. Who is he and might he be able to help me in my quest for a crank pin for a 1973 Graham Farish 94XX pannier tank?
Your advice appreciated.

My 5MT came through at last, the front bogie is very loose though. (the one near the front buffers) keeps jumping off the rails even at modest speeds. When stationary at the platform edge I can push the front coupling left or right and the wheels will come away from the track :/ May just need adjusting

A bit of a second-hand haul

Well the individual pieces, also got 5 BDAs which were on offer from Hattons, so will have fun setting them up. I finally got some coal for all my HEAs and HAAs (not pictured)

@MrDobilina

Did you manage to sort the front bogie issue off your 5MT?
Not as yet been on holiday! Have some snaps to share on my return though!

My fairly recently purchased Dapol A4 was running fine until I decided to remove the Rapido front coupler. Then she started to derail at several locations round my track.  Pushing the foremost wheels apart on the front bogie by a fraction of a mm has fixed everything. Everything jake now. I wouldn't be surprised if adjusting the wheel gauges on the bogie will fix your derailing problem too.

Care of Elaine's Trains... one of the new Arnold 'Krokodil' locos, but secondhand of course. Always loved these, and when the price dropped by £50, I couldn't say no! Not very useful on a West Country branchline though...

Cheers, NeMo

That is lovely, always fancied a crocodile myself.

Would be REALLY out of its comfort zone on my layout though!

Methinks the unused coupling could do with some Viagra ;)

It might also be worth checking underneath the bogie as per this ...................

Thanks NPN

That could very well have been a more proper fix. I'll keep it in mind if the derailing problem should recur.

Well the bank holiday weekend is nearly over and its time to go back to work again  :'( :'( :'(

The bad news is that I have not had time to play with my trains, but I have managed to make a few little additions to the stock. As the Domestic Overlord and I just happened to be in York on Saturday, and I just happened to take the other half to our favourite Italian restaurant, which is virtually next door to a certain model shop.

So I nipped in and happened to get a Dapol teak to strengthen and inter-regional train on the layout, HAPPY DAYS

Then to the model railway God's smiled on me again, and a visit to see the chaps at the Widnes Model Centre, found me the owner of used older Farish 08's at a bargain price, and I mean bargain.

All I need to do now is see if photo's will load and then figure out what to do with them.  :D :D :D :D

Trainfish

I bought a couple of things last week...............

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

Quite a haul.

If that's 'a couple' I wonder what 'a lot' might be, TF!
