Meanwhile, my morning's listening has been mainly soft rock from the likes of Boston, Journey, REO Speedwagon, Kansas etc.
Here's one of my preferred Boston tracks (I just like their guitar sound)

Here's a band that I've rather liked for the last few years.
Wilco with Impossible Germany and a very nice guitar solo to boot :

Wilco rose from the ashes of Uncle Tupelo. Here is one of my UT favourites - Sandusky :

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

Very pleasant and easy on the ears, not heard either of them before. Thanks for posting Martin @port perran .

Cheers,

I wasn't really sure where to post this as I'm not listening right now but I will be very soon. Sky arts at 11 pm tonight, "Have you got it yet? The story of Syd Barrett and Pink Floyd". I've seen it before but I will record it this time and watch it again, it can get quite emotional at times but a fantastic program. Try not to miss it.

There was a bit of a Floyd Fest on last night. Not sure if I have seen this documentary but have recorded it just in case.

Indeed there was. I saw that Pulse and Delicate sound of Thunder were on too, they do this maybe every 6 months or so. They do it with other bands too. I have seen all of the Floyd programmes of course and also saved them on Sky Q. I now have 2 copies of Syd Barrett on there as it seems I did save it last time too. If you ever see Roger Waters' The Wall on there that's also worth a watch. You usually have to pay to download it but sometimes it appears in the normal programming

I seem to have spent the morning in 'folk mode', with many tracks from the likes of Fairport, Fotheringay, Sandy Denny etc and, of course.......

Tonight appears to be a Neil Young one. Tracks played include 'Cortez the Killer', 'Like a hurricane' and 'Southern Man', the latter responded to by Lynyrd Skynyrd with their 'Sweet Home Alabama' Next up is the 'Harvest' album and maybe some more of 'After the Goldrush'
He can be an acquired taste but I really rate his song writing.

Something familiar to those of a certain age

I used to wait up to watch The Old Grey Whistle Test but at the time had no idea who was responsible for the theme tune :

A very pleasant little number I think.
Enjoy
