Review

Another good DVD in the Golden Age series - there are 4 altogether. Slightly poor quality, but excellent footage. This charming programme from 1990 is a tribute to Golden Age of Steam and looks at steam locomotives filmed in action over several decades of the 20th Century. Among the items featured are the 4472 Flying Scotsman in Marylebone Station in 1987, Duchess of Hamilton, Green Arrow, industrial steam locomotives, Sir Lamiel, turntables, Blackmore Vale, Green Arrow, V2 class, 4771 built by LNER leaving Marylebone leading the Stratford Express, O class built for South Eastern & Chatham Railway, fi lmed at Rolvenden in the 1950s, Class 73 electric locomotive built for Southern Region leaving Waterloo station, Duchess of Hamilton, H class tank locomotive seen leaving Hawkhurst station, K44 3442 Great Marquis on the Settle Carlisle line Port line on Bluebell Railway and many more.
