Building very Realistic Rock Face

I have been doing lots of rock modeling for my layout. here is how I did it. hope you like.

Getting rock to look right is pretty tough and you have done it very well.

What kind of plaster are you using? It seems to be setting slow enough that you can carve it easily.

Thanks! I don't have any special modeling supply with me so I have actually used after market plaster of Paris that is very cheap and easily available.  I think to get it look right and believable depends on our perception of nature and how good we can copy that to our layout. tools don't matter.

Very effective indeed. I have a lot of difficulty modelling rock faces and have never managed it to my satisfaction. I bought some Woodland Scenic rock molds some years ago, but they're still in the packet!

Can be creative fun and thanks for the tutorial. A big help to some modellers, a reminder for others. Sat waiting for an appointment but again a very well produced. Will have another look tonight,
