Bachmann N guage locomotive not running

Hi,
    I have 2 N gauge Flying Scotsman. One is a Graham Farish, which is not running, and the other is a Dapol, which is running, but other things are wrong with it. I have not been impressed with the Dapol model at all. My question is, is the chip in the same place in each model, i.e., in the tender? Are they interchangeable? Because that would rule that out. And bearing that, has anyone got any recommendations where to possibly send it, to be looked at.?
