Those cab doors make the gap look a bit better.

And one of the two BR green non-sound ones is also Dec/Jan, only the non-sound 60964 "Durham Light Infantry" will be arriving before that.

My wallet is going to take a hammering here, I want Green Arrow as I have many memories with the preserved one, and I also want a BR Black and BR Green for my next layout plan, all with sound too

I've got a Green Arrow on pre order which will run with my railtour rake as a preserved loco.

Had a call from Tim at Arcadia yesterday (Friday).  His first lot of BR Green non DCC had just arrived - Durham Light Infantry.  I duly coughed up the funds.  It arrived this morning (Saturday).  Tim's usual excellent service.  It looks fantastic.  AS I type this it is in phase 1 of running in.  Grafar say 30 mins each direction.  On my test oval it will have 15 minutes each way with loco pointing anticlockwise.  Then 15 each way loco pointing clockwise.  That always works well.  It gets the loco used to running with left and right bends.

That's good news. I might get mine from Rails next week, then

Quote from: Hailstone on November 01, 2025, 12:44:46 AMI ordered a black V2 60845 weathered by Rails and it arrived yesterday. my first impression was that it is light years ahead of its rather dissapointing predecessor

after an hours running in, I gave it a 20 wagon fish train to see what it was like on a load and it walked away with it (I will have to try a heavier van train that usually finds out the poorer haulers)

Finally, I put it on a passenger train, the leading coach having been aquired from @Pedanticmongrel which arrived the same day (a beautiful job Dan) with Green arrow on the fish vans heading in the opposite direction.

I look forward to the arrival of 60964 "The Durham Light Infantry" after which, the 2 existing V2's may be sent abroad for further use. 60845 has since been fitted with the cab doors, a crew and real coal in the tender

Regards,

Alex

Man, those V2s are quite gorgeous!  :o  Does anyone know of an estimated date for when the LNER-spec V2s are coming since the BRs are now here? Would like to get mine before Christmas!  :P

Not all BRs are here, the non-sound "St Peters School" in green with late crest and outside steam pipes is still to arrive.

From what I was told, all remaining liveries should arrive December/January, the sound variants of each last of all.

Given that we are nearing the end of November, if going by sea which could take 6 or more weeks, chances are they are very close to being shipped if not already in transit.

The LNER silent ones and a few others have been on the next 30 days list since the middle of the week so might well hit dealers before Christmas.
