I always want to retain the weight so locos will still have decent haulage. The Farish 66 is easy with an MX660, but you are limited on speaker depth if you go on top of the chassis. I just use hand files too. I've often wondered about a milling machine like that one - I'm sure I'd think of all sorts of things to use it for, not just sound installs!

The 58 is all wheel drive and has very good weight after fitting..

Yes, it was a more general comment about sound installations. I've not got a 58 - too early for me. The Farish 66 is a good example though - I personally compromise on speaker size to avoid taking too much weight out of them. The Dapol 66 even more so, although I was drawn in by the newest Next-18 model because that's almost plug and play!

The dapol 50 is awesome.. I have a few of them. The only problem is no one does a decent sound that is good for n gauge. Biffs needs big speakers which is a no for n gauge. And all the other providers are not right. Horns are wrong or the general sound isnt right. The best sound is the tts .I cant fault it. I've done loads now.

That's ironic! I'm happy with the YouChoos 50 project, but I can't remember what they actually sounded like!

Just wanted to say Paul ( @DELTICNAPIER ) has done a very good job on my Class 58. The Legoman soundfile is excellent, very driveable indeed.

He also fixed a few of the previous owners heavy handed ...'imprints'. I ducked this one myself and Paul took up the challenge. :)

If you need a sound install, I highly recommend Paul.
